PARTY PLANNING

We were asked to assist some Colgate University students with preparations for their annual honor society auction to raise money for area charities. Expected attendance was about 350. The event was held at our local Palace Theater and the challenge was to incorporate a "Pirates of the Caribbean" type theme - more classic than, well, you know... hokey.

We were able to make the most of their logo by using the damask pattern, a black and white color scheme & lots of fresh flowers and candles. We hung a vintage door from the ceiling and filled it with glass bottles and candles and used vintage shutters, damask curtains and whitewashed trunks to dress up the stage. We also re-purposed some vintage glass windows that we "etched" with black paint to frame the auction item display tables. As you can see, the cake was amazing - it was handcrafted by Peggy's Sweet Creations, there were 350 individual petite fours and it perfectly captured the spirit of the evening!

This project was both fun and challenging and the results were amazing!
